| EXPERTS IN RAILWAY PLANNING AND PROTECTION

Since 2005, Crossrail's team has been integral to Auckland's rail expansion, starting with ARTNL's (AT) platform extensions across the entire Auckland Network. This journey has seen the successful implementation of various DART projects, laying the groundwork for significant upgrades within the metro, including the AEP (Auckland Electrification Project). In 2020, Crossrail proudly became a Preferred Supplier to KiwiRail, solidifying our long-standing partnership and commitment to providing qualified Rail Protectors and Protection Planners across New Zealand.

Our Services

  • Are you new to working in the Rail Network? Crossrail can help obtain all the relevant documentation for a Permit to Enter to work within the rail corridor.

Remember, any work that has the potential to obstruct or obscure the rail corridor may need additional controls to deliver your job safely. Ask the team for advice on how to cover any further requirements.

  • The team at Crossrail’s expertise in the rail network started with Rail protection in 2005.

We have been part of a team from the early stages of rail protection development. We are proud to have been involved in successfully delivering these controls within the network at a safe, efficient, and effective standard.

This was carried through into the company today, with KiwiRail offering Crossrail a preferred supplier contract back in 2020, which we still honour today. Overall, this delivers the end-to-end Rail Corridor Access from the Access coordination stages, allowing the teams to brief the Protection delivery to the client’s needs.

  • By offering end-to-end Rail Corridor Access, starting with an initial assessment at the planning stages, followed by stakeholder engagement and access models for our clients.

We aim to align access needs seamlessly, from planning to physical implementation, thus ensuring a smoother operational workflow.

  • We work closely with the access provider to directly coordinate emergency access opportunities for our clients.

  • The experience within Crossrail enables us to deliver our clients a bespoke approach to planning projects with rail safety integrated. This includes protection planning and methodologies, coordination and risk assessments for rail protection required for a safe and efficient delivery from start to finish.

This is where the end-to-end delivery starts with Crossrail, the integration of rail safety at the planning stages of the project flowing down to the Access Coordination with the network and access providers, then finally to implementation of the delivery teams.

  • Here at Crossrail we were fortunate to have a Hirail built by TracGrip in Palmerston North.

This further expands our ability to assist clients in ‘hard to access’ areas within the network or for track inspections.

Weather its surveying or vegetation control our Hirail Vehicle can help with transporting and accessing these areas.

Custom built new, our Fuso 616 Single Cab Hirail is Tunnel and OLE Equipped to run in electrification areas and also work and travel through tunnels.

At Crossrail we have TPBM and Full Hirail operators dependant on our clients requirements.
